Web sites

I can create websites for small enterprises and private people. I have been doing this for more than 10 years for my own company, for myself privately and also for a dog kennel. I generally use Joomla or Wordpress content management systems (CMS). 15 years ago I created a limited CMS system myself written in the python language. For websites in German or English I have used the hosting services of www.cyon.ch, and plan to use www.hostpoint.ch for Italian

Generally creating your web site would involve the following stages:

  1. agree with the you what domain name should be used for the web site (the hulbert.ch you can see at the top of this page)
  2. plan to reserve the rights to use the domain name at a suitable web hosting provider, and plan which web hosting service from the same company would be suitable
  3. discuss the structure of the website with you - an introduction, different services which you can provide to your customers, perhaps a blog page, references of successful concluded projects and a contacts page
  4. discuss with the you if you want to be able to edit the web site yourself or if it should always be done by me. A blog page is an interesting possibility to do simple updates that involve just a date, an new activity and perhaps some photographs showing new projects or activities you have or could undertake
  5. Make a contract for implementation of the website - I make a charge for each page of the site as well as a charge for modifications based on an hourly rate, and essential maintenance of the site. You will also have to pay yearly costs for the domain name and hosting services described in item 2, direct to the web hosting provider. In general the you would also provide the texts and photographs (and perhaps videos and links to other web sites). I can also take photographs and videos for the same hourly rate.
  6. Once the contract is signed I would order the services from the web hosting provider and start creating the site. I can handle web pages in English, Italian or German, but you will have to provide grammatically correct texts for Italian and German.

For multilingual websites each page would be needed in each language, and it could be wise or necessary to purchase extra modules which have a yearly cost.
